The This is Life Collection by Spellbinders is a fun, pun-filled lineup of clear stamp and die sets that celebrate the ups, downs, and very relatable moments of everyday life with whimsical designs and humorous sentiments perfect for handmade cards and paper crafting projects.
- Ugh – A bold focal die with the word “Ugh,” paired with relatable sentiments about everyday frustrations and moods.

- Born to Dink – A pickleball-themed set with paddle, ball, net dies and fun sporty sentiments that celebrate that addictive dink life.
- Favorite Side Effect – Includes dies and witty stamps centered around a pill and pill bottle theme, perfect for humorous cards about age, medicine, and life’s little surprises.

Dumpster Fire Card

If there were ever a card that perfectly summed up those weeks… this is it. The Dumpster Fire stamp and die set paired with the oversized Ugh sentiment creates a card that’s both humorous and strangely comforting. I layered green and black cardstock for the sentiment to really make it pop against the textured white brick background, while the blue little flaming dumpster adds just the right amount of chaos. The sentiment, “If you’re gonna burn, burn brightly,” is peak This Is Life energy.

Pickleball Birthday Card

This playful pickleball card is all about celebrating wins, on the court and in life. I used the Born to Dink stamp and die set to create the crossed paddles and ball, layering bold, cheerful colors to keep the design energetic and fun. The pickleball net grounds the design and gives it a sporty feel, while the sentiment “Crushing serves & birthdays” makes this a perfect choice for pickleball-loving friends or milestone celebrations.

Neon Ugh Card

This card leans into encouragement with a side of sass. I blended vibrant neon inks across the large Ugh die cut, letting the color do most of the talking. Set against a black embossed brick background, the bright neon sentiment practically glows. The supporting phrase, “Seriously, life’s a lot—so here’s a card,” makes this one perfect for sending love, laughs, and solidarity when words are hard but humor helps.

Mini Tutorial
For this technique, you’ll need a stamping tool like a MISTI or StampWheel.
- Position the sentiment stamp in the lower right corner of your panel and stamp it with Picket Fence distress ink.
- DO NOT move the paper or the stamp.

- Trace over the stamped words with a white Posca paint pen, creating a halo around each letter.
- Allow the paint pen to dry completely.

- Stamp the sentiment again in the same position using Black Soot archival ink.

- Adhere the “UGH” die cut above the stamped sentiment.

- Emboss the panel with the Brick by Brick 3D embossing folder. DO NOT mist the panel.
- Adhere the finished panel onto a black card base.

Ugh, Card Making’s A Lot
What I love most about the This Is Life Collection is how real it feels. These designs don’t sugarcoat life, they embrace it, mess and all. Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, offering encouragement, or just acknowledging that things are a bit… dumpster-fire-ish, these stamp and die sets help you say it with heart and humor.

I hope these cards inspired you to embrace the messiness of life and turn it into something handmade and heartfelt. If they did, I’d love to see what you create! Be sure to tag me (@silversgrove or @grovecrafted) on Instagram or at Grove Crafted on Facebook.
