Hello, crafty friends! Graduation season is here, and I could not resist creating a couple of fun cards with the Classic Mouse Graduation Collection by Spellbinders. This collection is packed with adorable details and the sweetest nostalgic vibes, making it perfect for celebrating graduates of all ages. I decided to create two very different looks using the collection. One playful and character-focused, and one clean and modern with classic school colors.

For the first card, I leaned fully into the playful side of the collection with this adorable classic mouse graduate front and center. I used oversized balloon numbers layered across a soft blue embossed brick background to create a bold backdrop for the character. The dimension from the layered die cuts really makes the card pop, while the little diploma and graduation cap add the perfect celebratory touch.

Card Details

Card Base

  • A2 Size: 4¼” x 5½”
  • Cardstock: Classic White

Embossed Brick

  • Embossin Folder: Brick by Brick
  • Cardstock Color: Cascade
  • Emboss then trim to size: 4 1/16 x 5 5/16 inches
  • Adhere with glue.

Balloon Numbers

  • Die Set: Birthday Balloons
  • Cardstock Color: Cosmic Sky – 2026
  • Adhere with 1mm foam squares.

Classic Mouse Grad

  • Die Set: Classic Mouse Graduation
  • Cardstock Colors:
    • Poppy – gown (top layer), sleeves, & cap top
    • Pomegranate – gown (back layer), sleeve shadows, & cap back layer
    • Wild Berry – mouth
    • Saffron – tassel, sashes, collar, & diploma ribbon
    • Cosmic Sky – sneaker shoes (back layer)
    • Alabaster – face
    • Raven – head, body, arms, & tail
    • Classic White – sneaker shoe soles & laces, collar, & diploma
  • Assemble die-cuts with glue and 1mm foam squares.
  • Adhere with 1mm and 2mm foam squares.

Sentiment

  • Press + Foil Plate: Classic Mouse Graduation Sentiments
    • Cardstock: Classic White – “Class of” 
    • Ink: Cosmic Sky
  • Adhere with 1mm foam squares.

I love how fun and youthful this design feels. The large numbers instantly personalize the card for the graduate’s year, and the soft blues paired with the bright red gown create such a cheerful color combination. This would be perfect for a kindergarten, elementary, or even high school graduation card.

For the second card, I went with a much cleaner and more sophisticated design. The deep blue background paired with the bright red side panel gives this card a classic school-color feel, while the silver foiled tassel adds a beautiful elegant detail. I kept the focal point simple with the bold “2026” numbers and the sweet “so proud of you” sentiment layered underneath.

Card Details

Card Base

  • A2 Size: 4¼” x 5½”
  • Cardstock: Classic White
  • Cardstock: Poppy – cut to 1 x 5½ inches
  • Glue the red strip to the right side of the white card base.

Foiled Tassel

  • Press + Foil Plate: Classic Mouse Graduation Sentiments – tassel
  • Cardstock Color: Cosmic Sky – cut to 4¼” x 5½”
  • Foil: Silver
  • After foiling trim along the right edge of the tassel using scissors.

Class Year Numbers

  • Die Set: Classic Mouse Graduation Sentiments
  • Cardstock Colors:
    • Cosmic Sky Foiled Tassel Panel – 2026 shadow
    • Poppy – 2026

Class Year Number Instructions

  • Tape the “2026” shadow layer dies together with Best Ever Craft Tape.
    • I find that a T-square and a magnet sheet make this easier.Taping the “2026” shadow layer dies together
  • Tape the “2026” dies onto the Cosmic Sky foiled tassel panel.
  • Position the numbers about 1¼ inches from the bottom of the panel.
  • Use a T-square to help keep the dies straight and aligned.
  • Die cut the number shadows, then remove the die-cuts and dies.
  • Adhere the tassel panel to the white card base using glue.
  • Adhere the red numbers with glue.

Cap Charm

  • Die Set: Classic Mouse Graduation Sentiments
  • Cardstock Color: Silver Mirror – cap charm
  • Adhere with glue and a 1mm foam squares.

    • Cardstock: Classic White – “so proud of you!” 
    • Ink: Barn Door
  • Adhere with 1mm foam squares.

I really love how striking this card turned out while still being incredibly easy to recreate. The long tassel adds movement and draws your eye across the card, and the clean layout makes it versatile for graduates of any age, especially college. This design works beautifully in different school colors to personalize it even more.
