Hello, crafty friends! It’s spooky crafting season. Today I have the paw-fectly adorable Halloween card to share, made with the Spellbinders exclusive Pupkin die set. This sweet little puppy dog completely stole my heart. Between the cute pumpkin costume, and that little skull treat bucket, it’s impossible not to smile while putting this one together.

Meet Pupkin!

This little Pupkin pup from Spellbinders is a whimsical layering die set that combine to form a charming little dog dressed in a pumpkin costume, complete with a skull-shaped treat bucket. It’s designed as a fun seasonal accent for cardmaking, treat tags, or Halloween crafts, lending a playful and slightly spooky personality to your paper projects.

Card Instructions

Here’s how to create your own version of this Pupkin Halloween Card.

Card Base

  1. Start by creating an A2 card base (4¼” x 5½”) from White cardstock.
  2. Cut another White cardstock panel to the same size (4¼” x 5½”).
  3. Emboss this panel using the Crackle Paint 3D embossing folder.
  4. Using the largest die from the Precision Layering A2 B set, die cut the debossed side of the panel.
  5. Adhere this panel to the card front with glue.

Arches

  1. Die cut Rainforest cardstock using the eighth largest die from the Essential Arches set.
  2. Then cut Raven cardstock with the ninth largest die from the same set.
  3. Layer and glue the two arches together.
  4. Attach the assembled arch to the center of your card front using foam squares for dimension.

Pupkin

  1. Use the Pupkin die set to cut your pieces from the following cardstock colors:
    • Carrot – Pumpkin costume
    • Fern – Stem & collar
    • Fawn – Dog (Face, snout & legs)
    • Raven – Bucket, eyes, & nose
    • White – Skull
  2. Add shading with Distress Inks using a tiny blending tool:Distress Ink blending on the Pupkin die-cut pieces.
    • Spices Marmalide – Pumpkin costume
    • Brushed Corduroy – Dog
    • Mowed Lawn – Stem & collar
    • Lost Shadow – Skull
  3. Assemble the Pupkin with glue. (Refer to guide below for details.)Pupkin Assembly Guide
  4. Add foam squares to the back of the Pupkin and center it inside the arch, leaving room for the sentiment above.

Sentiment

  1. Die cut the word “boo” from white cardstock using the Boo Crew die set.
  2. Adhere the sentiment above the Pupkin to complete your design.

And that’s it! You now have an adorable handmade Halloween card filled with rich texture and playful charm, perfect for sharing a little spooky fun this season.
