Hello Gourd-geous Card
Spellbinders | Stitching Die of the Month Club – September 2025
Hello, crafty friends! 🍂 Today I’m sharing a whimsy autumnal card made with the September Stitching Die of the Month from Spellbinders. The theme for September’s clubs is Charmed Season, and it is all about the fall vibes.
The featured die set is called Stitched Pumpkin Tops, and it is absolutely perfect for adding stitched details to your autumn cards. I love how versatile this die is. You can use it as a pumpkin, a flower, or even as a stitched accent for your Thanksgiving place cards. For this card, I went with a fun stitched bloom that really pops against the textured background.
Stitching Die of the Month Club
The Stitching Die of the Month Club is one of my personal favorites. Each month, you’ll receive a new set of dies designed specifically for adding stitching details with thread. The results are always stunning and add such a unique, handmade touch to your projects. I love that you can choose to stitch them up for texture or leave them unstitched for a clean, die-cut look. It is like getting two designs in one! You can learn more or join the stitching club here.September 2025 – Stitched Pumpkin Tops

Hello Gourd-geous Card
For this card, I started with a deep teal embossed background that gives off a cozy, woven texture, perfect for fall. I stitched the September Stitching Die of the Month pumpkin top on a burnt orange cardstock with gold thread to bring in that autumn sparkle. A green stem and leaves grounded the design, while the gold “hello” sentiment and cheeky “gourd-geous” banner finished everything off with a touch of shine. I love how the stitched details make this simple design feel so special and full of dimension.

Card Instructions
Here’s how you can make your own version of this Hello Gourd-geous card:
Card Base
- Create a 4″ x 6″ card base using Oceansise cardstock
- Die cut Oceanside cardstock with the third largest die from the 5×7 Matting Basics A set.
- Emboss the panel with the Linen 3D embossing folder and glue it to the card base.
- Die cut another panel with the second smallest die from the same set.
- Add foam squares to the back and attach it to the center of the card front.
Stitching
- Die cut Terra Cotta cardstock with the largest pumpkin die from the Stitched Pumpkin Tops die set.
- Stitch the pumpkin with metallic gold thread.
- Secure the thread ends on the back with Best Ever Craft Tape.
Pumpkin
- Die cut these pieces from the following cardstocks:
- Pumpkin Background – Cinnamon
- Large Starburst – Gold Glitter
- Large Stem – Gold Mirror
- Assemble the pumpkin with glue.
- Refer to the guide below for assembly instructions.
- Add foam squares to the back.
- Adhere it to the top left of the smaller rectangle, letting it hang slightly off the edge.
Flower
The flower stem die I used has since been discontinued, and I didn’t realize it until I started writing this post. The good news is that there’s a very similar stem in the Vivid Blooms die set, or you can simply use any flower stem from your stash for the same effect.
- Die cut the flower stem from Fern cardstock using the Sitting Pretty die set.
- Add a thin foam square behind the left leaf for dimension.
- Glue the stem in place.
Sentiments
- Die cut the “GOURD-GEOUS” banner from Terra Cotta cardstock.
- Die cut a plain banner from Oceanside cardstock.
- Layer the banners and attach them with thin foam squares to the bottom right of the rectangle, letting it hang slightly off the edge.
- Die cut “hello” once from Gold Mirror cardstock and twice from Oceanside cardstock.
- Glue the Oceanside layers together, then add the Gold Mirror layer slightly offset to create a drop shadow effect.
- Attach the sentiment above the “GOURD-GEOUS” banner.
All Stitched Up
I had so much fun playing with the September Stitching Die of the Month, and I can already see myself reaching for it again and again for fall and Thanksgiving projects. The stitched pumpkin top is just too cute and versatile!
