Spellbinders – Ski-son’s Greetings Collection by Simon Hurley

Hello, crafty friends! There’s something so magical about a cozy winter cabin scene, and this card captures that warm “home for the holidays” feeling perfectly. Using the Ski-son’s Greetings Collection by Simon Hurley for Spellbinders, I created a design that feels festive, rustic, and full of seasonal charm. While this design is perfect for the holidays, it could easily be adapted for birthdays, especially for anyone who loves hitting the slopes.

Ski-son’s Greetings Card

Ski-son's Greetings Card

The star of this design is the dimensional A-frame cabin, built from layered die cuts that instantly create a cozy focal point. I used warm wood tones and pops of red on the door to make the house feel inviting, then added small details like trim, lights, and railing pieces to really bring it to life. Behind the cabin, the embossed evergreen background adds wonderful texture and depth while keeping the color palette calm and wintry. The snowy hillside and layered trees help ground the scene and give it that storybook winter setting. To finish it off, the scripted sentiment stretches across the background, tying everything together with a soft, elegant holiday message.
