Printing The Punny Sentiments

I created these punny sentiments specifically tailored to fit the Hero Arts heart die. With both right side up and upside down versions, you have the flexibility to position the sentiment at the top or bottom of your card, according to your preference. Below is an example of how the sayings will look inside the heart shape when die cut.

Sentiment examples

Note: The PDF does not include a colored background. However, if you prefer a colored background for your valentine, you can easily achieve it by printing the PDF on light colored cardstock instead of white.

You can download the free punny sentiment PDF here.

Follow the printing instructions below:

  1. Print it out on white/light colored cardstock.
  2. Print on normal/best quality at 100%.
  3. DO NOT SCALE TO FIT PAGE.

Your printout should look like this.

Cutting the Punny Sentiments

  1. Use scissors or a paper trimmer to cut the sentiments apart along the dotted lines.
  2. Grab the fourth largest heart die from the Hero Arts nesting infinity die set.
  3. Align the heart die with the sentiment at the center and secure it with some washi tape. (Use the box as a reference to ensure it’s perfectly straight.)Die cutting the sentiments
  4. Then, run it through your die cutting machine.
  5. Glue it to the inside of your card and set something heavy on it while it dries.

Substitutions

I made these six mini valentines using dies from the Spellbinders 2023 Crafty Advent Calendar. If you got this calendar last year, awesome! You’re all set. But if you don’t have it, no worries. You can still make these valentines. Just use any small dies or stamps you have that fit the categories listed below. Oh, and for the strawberry one, any kind of berry works because the pun is “You’re berry cute!” Same goes for the bug. It can be any type of insect bug too because the pun is “You’ll always be my love bug!”
